Backlight with function – indirect lighting for orientation and ambiance

Indirect lighting behind the wall-mounted supply units creates a sense of orientation, depth, and a calm atmosphere in the patient room. The specially developed 3×3-cm LED profile provides even, glare-free light without visible transitions—technically precise, visually clear, and consistently user-oriented.

What is the backlight effect?


The backlight effect is more than just a visual detail. When implemented correctly, it creates depth, orientation, and atmosphere—especially in patient rooms, where every detail counts.

At Schyns, we use this effect deliberately. Our indirect lighting behind the wall-mounted supply units not only creates a calm lighting ambiance but can also serve as a subtle nightlight. Functional, understated, and clearly user-focused.

To achieve this, we developed our own 3 × 3 cm LED profile. The LEDs remain invisible, and the light appears even and soft. The special opal cover is manufactured entirely without sharp edges and can be seamlessly routed around corners. The result is a continuous light strip with no visible transitions—technically clean and of high design quality.
